Do I think Hallmark is super cheesy? Yes. Will this stop me from watching ALL OF IT? Never. Did I create and host a Hallmark Christmas Showdown Bracket? ABSOLUTELY!!!! Let me know if you want in!
um, this is the most dramaztic re-telling of the Bouquet toss lore….EVER. and how is this not common knowledge to everyone by now?
There were lots of very funny moments… most relatable though: “Last time I went on a date: Decembuary” LOL! #same I may have laughed out loud and a little too long at that.
I really loved the leads on this one! Their chemistry was so natural. They truly sold the “old friends hiding their true feelings vibe” so, that being said, how come ONLY ONE OTHER FRIEND and 2-date Laurissa see it?!?!?!
ALEX & JOSIE! Kids, you’re killing me!
So here’s how I’m going to break it down: 5 categories, 5 hearts possible in each
CHEMISTRY ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Alex and Josie…again, how are there only 2 people in this movie seeing the unspoken love between you two?!?!?! They played it so well! Alex’s move announcement and Josie’s reaction hurt my heart something fierce. STORYLINE ❤️❤️❤️ Most of this whole storyline was good and well acted…but this whole “Lore of the Wedding Bouquet” I couldn’t stomach. EVERYONE knows that, right?!?!?! You’re stretching it Hallmark. SUPPORTING CAST ❤️❤️ All I’m going to say, if this friend group was as close as they claim to be…..there would have been a LOT more meddling. These two have obviously been into each other for a long time…..I’m quite disappointed in the lack of friend meddling. READ THE ROOM! This dude has it bad! FEELS ❤️❤️❤️ the “practice” wedding….the HANDWRITTEN LETTER, that magically gets mailed….all good things….but we had the big moment, a WEDDING…and still no kiss until the very last second: so many missed opportunities! HALLMARK SURPRISE ❤️❤️ The only surprise to me was that the secondary “wrong” relationships fizzled out naturally and honestly.
15/25 I don’t think I’d watch it again, but I’d most definitely watch this couple again!
This flick peaked my interest from the very first preview I saw. If you LOVE country music…and Hallmark love stories….THIS ONE IS WORTH IT!!!!!
These songs are not only original, but the actors are really and truly performing them! How cool is that?!?!?! Did I mention I’m a huge country music fan????
I loved every single minute of this Hallmark movie. The songs weren’t CMA worthy, but I don’t even care. The chemistry between all 3 leads was TOP NOTCH. I couldn’t even hate on Duke like I was suppose to. I have so much to say, but I’m going to save it for my 5 categories to help me lay it out.
So here’s how I’m going to break it down: 5 categories, 5 hearts possible in each
CHEMISTRY ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ The chemistry was oozing out of every possible place in this one! All 3 leads had it with each other. Grady & Shayna….Duke & Shayna…..Grady & Duke…..I could’ve watched another 2 hours of these good ‘ol country folk. Then you throw in music and guitars….writin’ and singin’ songs. SWOON! I’d give it 6 hearts if I could. STORYLINE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ SO SO GOOD! So many angles explored in this. The history between the men…the struggle of an artist trying to make it big…finding herself in her music, but back in her small town. Are you sure this was a Hallmark movie? Felt a little bit “big budget” for them! SUPPORTING CAST ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ There were 3 leads as far I am concerned….so we gotta reach out a bit on this. Dad kills it. I love that he saw the Grady/Shayna relationship budding the whole time and completely backed it. The record label peeps even played their douchie rolls well. FEELS ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ If you haven’t been able to tell by now, I am a big fan of this movie. The first song at the beginning was rough….but that’s what they were going for…….all the duets were killing me with sweetness….and if you didn’t get into the final number..and the kiss…and the kiss….and ooh, one more kiss ;)……. check your heart. HALLMARK SURPRISE ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I wasn’t surprised by the end….I think we all saw that coming. I was sweetly surprised by how well all the characters were written, developed and ACTED! The fact that I still flippin’ LOVE Duke and want to see a sequel where he finds love makes me know this movie is a true Hallmark gem!
I was getting kind of restless waiting for new movies to be released on our beloved Hallmark…and I do know there were a few new flicks during the summer, but they just never do capture my heart like Christmas. I vividly remember last year feeling the same way, and I thought I’d be waiting until the end of October to pick back up my viewership…..
But, Fall is my Favorite Season. So, when Fall Harvest was announced, I knew I would get sucked in to all things Pumpkin and Harvest-y Hallmark style.
So, here I am: Reviewing the first of the 2020 Fall Harvest Movies: Follow Me to Daisy Hills.
Ok, I’m first going to start off by saying what it is not. It is not Pumpkin-y/Fall like/Harvest-Fest at all. This movie could be thrown into any season at anytime… Where are my Pumpkins? Where are my Apples?
Also, it is not very good. Sorry, I really try not to be too negative….but I gotta be honest. This took a LOOOONG time to get me to actually care about these characters and their relationship. It starts off with Jo (Cindy Busby) having HORRIBLE business sense. I get it. Some people love their small town feels…but being on social media is kind of old news as far as a business goes (even for a small town store). Also, I get wanting to be kind and generous to friends (I do this too and get yelled at all the time) BUT when something costs you DOUBLE, and then you give it away completely FREE instead of charging your customer…..I can’t. Whatevs. That storyline was rough.
One the bright side, the main couple did get me to care by the 1st kiss, though. (and yes, I said 1st kiss….there are more than 1 😉 so that was delightful) Mostly, though, I did have to pretend that slicked-back hairstyle out of existence the entire movie. Just, no.
Let’s Get into it though. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted a review
So here’s how I’m going to break it down: 5 categories, 5 hearts possible in each
CHEMISTRY ❤️❤️❤️ It started sooooooo sloooooowwwww. The fact that these two high school sweethearts had history, and everyone was telling us they should be together didn’t even make me believe it. Does it make me a horrible person that I was distracted by Blake’s hair so much that I couldn’t concentrate? Probably. Quarantine hair, don’t care? Dude’s a good looking guy….get that man a haircut. STORYLINE ❤️❤️ Classic smalltown girl….left by a boy in search of the “Big City” (INSERT THE BIGGEST EYE ROLL) I just didn’t like it. I already discussed a lot of that above….but I DO love a good “community store” concept being the small handmade business that I am. I saw that coming a mile away…and still loved it. SUPPORTING CAST ❤️❤️ I did enjoy a few of the little sister’s one-liners….she actually referenced “making out” in a Hallmark movie, so bonus points there. And, although Bob was quite disheveled most of the movie, which I didn’t understand at all….I’m very interested in trying his BBQ FEELS ❤️❤️❤️ Not much in the romance department…but I did get a little heart flutter in the essay written by sister Sophie. I wouldn’t say it was amazing, but it was lovely. That family unit sure loves each other and is loyal and wonderful. HALLMARK SURPRISE ❤️❤️ The surprise for me was that I actually did care a little bit about the couple and the storyline by the end. There were a few lines that Jo and Sophie quipped throughout the movie that made me giggle. (“We were having a moment!”) I don’t know why the dramatic viral post surprised me so much at the end….should have been an obvious “twist” with how anti-social media Jo was…but nonetheless, it got me to smile.
12/25 . Not excited about it. Would pass on by if it was on again.
Man, it’s been hard to catch up on my Hallmark movies! I didn’t get to see all the Spring Fling offerings, and since I have to wait until they become available on Sling TV again, I’ve had to resort to re-watching a few movies from the past. I’ve even come across a couple I haven’t seen yet….which has been a very pleasant surprise, indeed.
What I’m here to talk about though, is the FUTURE of Hallmark Movies….
Have you seen the meme traveling around Facebook?
Many people shared or tagged me in it….my husband even shared it to my wall. So, obviously, word is getting around that I’m “into” Hallmark, I guess? OH BOY! I snickered when I read this…but then, I seriously considered it. What if they can’t film Hallmark Christmas movies this year?!?!? What will I EVER DO?!?!
As with many of these “What Ifs” we’ve been faced with this year….I’m going to not think about it. It’s out of my control….I must soldier on.
But Maybe….just Maybe….some movies would look a bit like this…..
Not only are they both working from home together, but Rachel and Hank decided to tackle a few home DIY projects during the pandemic. Will their marriage fall apart like their homemade furniture? Will they learn to love again while they put the pieces back together?
Becky was beside herself when restaurants were ordered to close. She had just opened her dream bakery, and now a pandemic shut those dreams down. While trying to stay afloat, her curbside to-go business had one mysterious repeat customer. She may not have been able to see his face…but those eyes were unforgettable! What was this handsome stranger doing with thousands of dollars of baked goods a day? Was he sweet on more than just her cupcakes?
Mary never did like Christmas. It always reminded her of what she lost. The “Safer at Home” order was exactly what she needed to lock out Christmas this year. Gabriel, everyone’s favorite delivery man, noticed there was only house on his route that wasn’t decorated with Christmas lights. After asking around, Gabriel made it his Christmas Messenger duty to deliver some Christmas cheer to this house….but would that be all he delivered? After 12 days of Surprise Christmas Deliveries…Gabriel and Mary just might find themselves more than just presents under the tree this year…
Maggie was so tired of Grocery Store Pick-Up always leaving things off her order. It seemed she was missing items or needed substitutions with every single trip. One day she got so frustrated, she demanded to speak to a manager….which only made it worse! Mr. Manager didn’t take her seriously at all! He thought he was so charming and cute…(I mean, maybe he was…but that’s not the point) Her next Grocery Pick-up…and every one after, Mr. Manager personally delivered to her car….and when she got home: No Missing items, no substitutions, and a single rose. Her weekly Grocery Pick-Up became less maddening…..turns out, Mr. Manager has a name…and an ulterior motive for “No Substitutions”
Oh my goodness, I need to stop. This was too much fun! Don’t judge my photoshop skills…I was going for perfection, and I ain’t got time for more.
I have NO affiliations to Hallmark (Officially), unless, of course, they want to use these Plot Lines for a new series for 2020. If that’s the case, call me!
Tell me! Do YOU have any Pandemic Plot Lines? I’d love to hear them!
I think one of the biggest reasons I hit a wall this week was it finally got to me that I have put most of the “me” things on hold. While I realize that this is totally and completely necessary in order to try and accomplish all the “distance learning” for 4 dependent children….
it also has finally lead me to a bit of burnout this week.
Well, let’s get back at it!
SO it’s Wednesday. And on Wednesday’s we HALLMARK here!
I almost fell off my chair when this movie was announced. Anything with BACON in the title has GOT to be good, right?
Also, these two leads are usually very good…..the test? Are they good together?
I’m going to jump into my 5 point review in a second, but I wasn’t exactly sure where this point would fit…so I’m putting it here. I could hardly contain myself that I got a personal shout out in this film. I mean, they NAMED THE MAIN SANDWICH AFTER ME!
THE BLP!
(sure, it’s my maiden name initials…but still. It’s ME!)
I feel so seen.
So here’s how I’m going to break it down: 5 categories, 5 hearts possible in each
CHEMISTRY❤️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️
ON POINT! The WHOLE MOVIE. I just love it when the actors start off the movie NOT hating on each other or annoying each other. It really makes the process of them getting together a lot more believable for me. They were both so cute about it. STORYLINE ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️
LOVED THIS! It was such a cool concept…Food Trucks! Maybe part of my love for it was the fact that we can DO NONE OF THESE things right now: Farmer’s Markets, Food Trucks, Competitions, Being in Public….it really made me realize just how much I miss all of it, but I am excited to do it again soon! (God-willing) SUPPORTING CAST ❤️ ❤️❤️
I liked Gabe & his brother’s relationship a lot, but my favorite was Cleo’s niece, Tessa! How fun was she?!?! Helping her technology-impaired auntie with her business 🙂 Makes me sad that I’m in the “old” crowd now…but I can still manage a few social media accounts, so I guess I’m not a dinosaur yet 😉 FEELS❤️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️
UGH! The hard part about having the feels begin at the start of the movie…when the conflict parts come, they really hurt. They made me feel them all., What a roller coaster! HALLMARK SURPRISE❤️❤️❤️❤️
I Just Really LOVED these two leads together! Gabe & Cleo ALL DAY! Could you tell? The surprise for me was how they were almost like real adults when conflicts came up. When I thought they would Hallmark-zig….they would ZAG! All the little misunderstandings were resolved quickly. And the big conflict was believable!
21/25 ❤️. Would HIGHLY recommend…and would probably watch again….as long as I had a BIG BLP to eat while I watched!
